I’m Marcus - A Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in Oakland, California, dedicated to helping individuals create meaningful change and navigate life with greater clarity and confidence.

In my work, I help people:

  • Find practical and effective ways to navigate life transitions

  • Overcome feelings of loneliness, sadness, and depression

  • Develop new strategies for managing fears and anxieties about the future

  • Gain insight into and break patterns that interfere with relationships

  • Explore the root of their trauma and begin the process of healing

My Approach

I believe that people have the ability to make meaningful, lasting change in their lives. But sometimes, life gets in the way—old patterns, painful experiences, and external pressures can make it hard to move forward. Therapy is a space to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with your capacity for growth and healing.

As a therapist, I see myself as a thought partner, strategist, holder of hope, active listener, and collaborator. I walk alongside you—not as the expert of your life, but as someone who helps you see possibilities, patterns, and paths toward change.

My work integrates evidence-based therapeutic models, helping you understand how your thoughts, emotions, and nervous system all interact. Together, we’ll identify your goals for therapy and create a plan tailored to your needs and pace.

My practice is trauma-informed and LGBTQ+ affirming. All are welcome here.

If you’re ready to start creating real change, don’t wait. Reach out today to schedule a consultation—and take the first step toward a more grounded, connected version of yourself.

About Me - LMFT 158475

My Clinical Background

I’ve spent over a decade working in the field of mental health, supporting individuals and families through a wide range of challenges and life transitions. My experience includes volunteering in suicide prevention, working in residential treatment settings, providing case management services, offering therapy in schools, supporting families in community-based programs, and building a thriving private practice here in the Bay Area.

Through these diverse experiences, I’ve learned that meaningful change happens when we feel seen, supported, and equipped with tools that work for our unique lives.

Education, Training & Professional Affiliations

I hold a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from University of San Francisco. I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of California and an active member of professional organizations that value growth, integrity, and evidence-based care.

Over the years, I’ve pursued advanced training in trauma-informed therapy, EMDR, mindfulness-based approaches, and contemporary psychodynamic and attachment-focused modalities to deepen and diversify my clinical work.

Outside the Office

When I’m not in session, you can usually find me exploring the Bay Area, tending to my garden, or playing music with my band. I believe that creativity, community, and curiosity are essential parts of living a full and grounded life.
